My nephew digs the XS but thought it was too loud
I did it! I finally tracked down and bought a very decent xs650. Its a 1978 US import totally stock at the moment. Runs sweet but has a seriously horrible starter but hey, thats what the kick start is for eh. So I’ve got a winter project. Gotta decide what style I’m gonna go for.
Initially it was gonna be a simple hardtail bobber, as close to a 60′s Triumph hard tail as possible but I’m swinging (with some encouragement) towards the swingarm, low stance, simple retro look made famous by ‘Bratstyle’ in Japan. I’m gonna run it around as it is for a wee while so I can check everything works well and then I’ll be slapping some firestone classics on and putting her on a diet. Cant wait. Absolutely stoked. Thanks to Benny at Boneshaker for the advice so far.
