So the The Albion Magazine (#4) is now out and its sporting the latest advert I designed and illustrated for Crucial BMX. We didnt have any photos to work from this month so Scott gave me free reign to do whatever I wanted and this is what I came up with. Really chuffed with this cant wait to see it in print later today.

The Albion Magazine is due to release #4 this weekend and are marking the occasion with a jam at Stockwell bowl in Brixton. Its this saturday 1st October (2011). Get down there. I can’t wait to see it in print and I’m especially eager because I’m over the moon with the latest Crucial Advert I illustrated that’ll be gracing its pages.

My latest illustration for Crucial BMX has just landed in this months Ride BMX Mag (153). It features a photo of Mike Matthews by Scott Summerhayes (gap to rail) and the drawing by myself. Looks rad in print. Chuffed with it for sure. Its part of the ongoing series of works I do for Crucial which you can see here

My first encounter of Boyd was about 3ys ago and I was less than impressed, in fact I thought he was an idiot. He half nearly killed me at the skatepark snaking my runs and almost chain ringing my noggin.  I got him all wrong.

I quickly came to realise I couldn’t have been more wrong about him and I’m really chuffed to say I now call him a good friend.  He’s also a rad BMXer, amazing trails builder, a craftsman in stone and also a really, really nice young man. He’s been warmly welcomed into the Digmore fold  as our brother which says alot. I salute you Boyd, you’ve come along way. (Thanks for letting me dig, ride and hang at your magical woods BTW).  - IRONMAN.

Crucial home page

We’ve been working with Crucial BMX Shop to develop a custom built online shop and blog for them for a while now. It went live on friday and we’re all chuffed at how well its turned out and been received. There’s a few things left to tidy but for the most part its fully operational and open for business!

The task was to build something lite and simple, clean but modern and with subtle whistles and bells. It had to be easy to navigate and to buy product. I think we hit the nail on the head.

Rich and I developed the site from scratch collaborating with Sam Clarke from toasted digital who was our Modx and Foxycart jedi. The blog is powered by the mighty WordPress and integrated with the shop and cart set up. This is no off the shelf, template driven store, this is fully custom, scratch built for Crucial! If you need an online store or a website, get intouch, we’d be happy to build one for you.

Big thanks to Scott, Maria and Gary at Crucial for commissioning us to do the work, and I’d like to give my team, Rich and Sam a massive pat on the back for the hard work. Check it out here..

The site is designed to help out those independent, rider owned and run stores in the UK who put so much into our scene and industry. Its basically a directory of shops by region who are keeping it real. Big corporate shops and web stores might sometimes get the best prices but they don’t often contribute to the lifeblood of the scene in the way that rider owned indies do. I’m not going to rant about it but if you’re interested and want to find out more about the issue please check out the site and see for yourself.

As well as the store directory, the blog has a feed from several of the shops listed so its a sort of one stop blog for BMX store news.
