My beautiful daughter Heidi Millie Gilbert was born on the 8/8/10. She’s a week old, she’s beautiful. I’m so in awe of Claire, thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful girl. Love you both so much. She had her first introduction to music today, she likes Joy Division

I took this clip of Freddie the Fox a couple of weeks ago. Kung and Homer where taking photos of him eating piri piri sausage. I think he thought my iphone was sausage flavoured too cos he was looking like he’d snatch it from me. hah. So rad to get so close to him. Bloody lovely.

I spotted this bargain Mamiya RB67 in a 2nd had shop 2mins from the studio. A phone call later and Rich was in like a rat up a drain pipe! Its got a few light leaks that can be fixed but apart from that works a treat.

Riding and digging a bunch down the trails recently. Visitors beware. There’s a hight salt content down our woods of late. (and a little homo bonding hah). Localism in full effect.Trails are a year long affair not just for summer reaping. No dig, no ride.

Digmore. First Straight

Reaping the rewards of all those winter hours digging in the cold and wet at last. Feels so good to be able to just chill with the boys down the woods again after such a hiatus. Believe it or not after a week of dry weather we badly need the rain again to get things fixed up and dialled in. Anyway, had some rad times over the couple of weeks. Freddie the fox has reached new levels of confidence, I dont know if thats good or bad but for us its certainly a treat. Its a real privilege to be able to hang out with such a fine creature.  Anyway, here’s some iphone photos from the last fortnight…

1962 Triumph "Palm Beach"

I picked up a pretty haggard old Triumph “Palm Beach” 3 speed at the weekend. Stoked. Needed a bike to get around on when its wet (BMX sucks in the rain) and to carry me to and from the pub. Its in need of some TLC to put it mildly but its all there and it all works. The Sturmey Archer gears are so good, smooth and working like new. They don’t build bikes like this anymore.

Quarter / hood rat shelter – 13/01/2010

My local skatepark / ghetto, Dean Lane (AKA, The Deaner, Dame Emily etc) got a sprinkling of snow last few weeks. I got a few snaps on my phone to mark the occasion. Had some really good times at this park, its weird as hell but thats what makes it good. Its crap good. Long live the Deaner! Nothing Meaner! (Respectful nod to the DLH)

Happy New Year! I havent had time to post anything since before christmas. Been really busy of late. Lots of freelance work and of course family stuff. I havent even drawn anything for weeks. Mostly been working on adverts and web stuff for some advertising agencies here in Bristol and my good friends and clients at Profile in Florida.

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of drawing everyday (I slipped out of that a while back). Also missing BMX and the trails but I have instead been out walking on Dartmore and the Mendips with my buddies. Pretty stoked on wildlife and the countryside right now (nothing too new about that). Anyway, really amped on 2010, cant wait to get stuck in. Anyone wanting illustration work or graphics get your briefs in! I’m getting booked up pretty quick already. I’ve decided after resisting for a long while I’m going to take commissions for Tattoo designs too so get in touch. Lots of my work has been used for tats in the past but I’ve not designed specifically for it so this is a new ting. I got a book of pub walks in the mendip hills for christmas so been trying a few of those out. I didnt realise how varied and beautiful the countryside is around Bristol, right on the doorstep.
